Our Visit to Raging Waters Sydney- Review and Tips

February 23, 2020
Looking for a fun Sydney family activity to do with the family? Check out Raging Waters Sydney, located in Prospect NSW. We recently visited for a fun-filled family day out, and had the most magnificent time. I won’t lie, this Mumma was exhausted by the end of it, but the girls had so much fun and it was great to spend time with them getting active and leaning into my inner child!
Plus, we created lots of fun family memories, which is really the best feeling.

ATTRACTIONS

This water park really has everything. It’s not all crazy rides and dark tunnels – though there’s some of that for thrill-seekers!

The park has the following attractions:
Rides and slides
Waves, rivers and pools
Splash zones

With over 30 attactions, there is SO much fun for kids, including the Nickelodeon beach, where you will see characters like SpongeBob Squarepants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and more of your faves.
The Nickelodeon beach was the girls’ favourite and we spent most of our time between there and the beach. The line is super quick (mum bonus!).
The staff are so organised and communication was great, which meant they kept all the slides following nice and smoothly. Long queues and disorganised management can make days out like this super stressful, but luckily there was none of that here!
The beach section was absolutely beautiful! We made sand castles, enjoyed the water, and actually got some relaxation in – not what I was expecting!

SHOPPING

Don’t worry if you forget your summer essentials. There is a beachfront shop that has them all available, from sunscreen, hats and more. Let’s not forget the all important gift shop to end the day with – the girls love taking a keepsake home from our special days out.

FOOD

You won't feel hungry or thirsty here! There are many dining and beverage options available, from pizza, burgers, hot dogs, chicken and many sweet treat options. Popcorn, fairy floss, and churros are all on the menu, letting you really treat yourself.
The girls ate chicken tenders and chips, I got a cheeseburger, hubby and my brother in law a grilled chicken burger and my sister calamari and chips. The food was nice and fresh, and as a special occasion it was nice to let the girls have some treat foods.
Luckily this caffeine-addicted Mumma got her coffee fix, too, at the onsite coffee shop.

PARKING

There is a massive car park so you don’t need to worry about finding a spot. We found one right away, and paid $10 for the whole day! There is also a drop off and pick up spot, handy for dropping older kids off for a day out!

CABANAS

Fancy an extra bit of luxury? You can make a day of it and hire a cabana! There are 4 different options to pick from depending on how many people and where you want to be located. Prices start from $69 on weekends.
We hired a family Cabana, which was perfect for the 6 of us. It was the perfect ‘base’ that we could return to knowing we had our own space to rest, relax and eat lunch. Our Cabana was located right in the Nickelodeon beach section which is the kids side – perfect! Everything was so close and convenient, so it’s totally worth the money to reserve your own.

We couldn’t help by ending our visit in the high tide gift shop where we got a few souvenirs! I'm a sucker for keepsakes. Magnets are always a must and the girls got a few nicknacks to remember the day.

My Top Tips!

- Hire a locker, it’s so handy and gave us that peace of mind our valuables are locked and kept our hands free

- Go as early as you can! There is SO much fun to get through and if you are with kids, you will need a few breaks in between to recharge!

- If you can, hire a cabana! It is such a beautiful touch to the day, you can also keep some stuff there, enjoy the table and chairs and some family time without worrying about finding a space.

- Bring a change of clothes. I bought the girls two dresses each but they wet both pretty quick on our breaks, so my biggest tip is bring extra for the drive home, nothing worse than wet clothes and tired kids on the drive home after a long day!

- Measure your child before hand if you don’t know their height. Lots of slides have height restrictions and it’s good to pre warn the kids beforehand that there is some they might not be able to go on. Knowing in advance might reduce the tears and upset on the day.

- If you’re a coffee addict like me...caffeine up!

I’d love to hear if any of you visit and hope you found this review helpful in planning your day.

Celebrating with Jungle Buddies for Macie 4th Bday

August 06, 2019
Well guys, my youngest baby is 4!

This year we decided to have her party at a play centre called Jungle Buddies, and honestly it was the best decision I’ve made for a party. Macie had the absolute best time, and it was so helpful having the staff organise everything for me. As a Mum, when birthday’s roll around it’s easy to get overwhelmed and wonder how you’ll get it all done. With our Jungle Buddies party it was all taken care of.

Here’s all the details:

The Venue
This play centre is beautiful and packed with natural light. There are so many fun slides, a dedicated section for the younger kids to enjoy safely, and plenty of tables in the middle for the parents to sit and relax and still be able to see their kids. It was a great chance for us all to catch up while watching the little ones have the time of their lives on the soft play, and the complimentary wifi gave us the chance to catch up on emails and work, too.
There’s a car park and a lift which makes it all so handy for families and buggies, and takes the stress away from looking for parking. I’m sure other parents can vouch for the chaos of loading the car with the kids! An accessible car park is a game changer!

On arrival, we were given a shoe basket for all the children to pop their shoes in, meaning nobody’s shoes get left or lost. Then you’ll get your Jungle Buddies present sack to keep all gifts from your guests safe and organised. It sounds like a small thing but it made all the difference to loading the car. Hubby just took the bag and off he went – no more gift bag Jenga trying to carry everything individually!

The Host
Each party comes with a party host to help make everything run smoothly and keep the kids entertained. Our party host was amazing and got the kids so excited, happy and clapping while singing as Macie entered the room. She felt like a celebrity I think!
Our party host helped set up the cake, sang Happy Birthday with the kids and got everyone involved. She  sorted all the kids food out and kept energy levels up with entertainment and games. Being able to enjoy Macie’s party myself was amazing. Our host had all the kids playing musical statues, limbo, ball games and even had their faces painted! I honestly couldn’t fault it.

The Food and Drink
Oh my goodness, the food was beautiful! We invited out immediate family to come along as well as Macie’s friend’s parents, and we were taken care of just as well as the kids.
Jungle Buddies offers coffee table service you get 10 coffees for $40, which was the perfect added extra. It meant all my guests got to sit and relax while someone came to take their coffee order. If you’re a parent you’ll know how hard it is to actually sit and enjoy a good cup of (hot!) coffee, so getting this personal service at the play centre was really incredible.
For food, you can select food to serve the adults as well as the kids. The menu has lots of different options but we went for fruit platters, quesadillas, pizza, sweet potato fries, wedges, sandwiches, mini quiches, banana bread, and muffins. My guests were so happy and I really loved that they all sat and enjoyed each other’s company. We also had crumbed chicken bites, potato string fries and pizza squares for the kids.

Party Room
The party rooms are beautiful! Each room is decorated with a variety of colours which is perfect for all genders and interests. The birthday child gets their own big chair which looks like a throne which Macie the birthday queen absolutely loved! There was Happy Birthday signs up and personal touch is added with the birthday child’s name written up in chalk. When we arrived the table was all set up perfectly with napkins, cups, plates, etc, all on a nice square table so all the kids were involved.

The Booking Process
Booking was SO easy. You simply select and date and time and once your chosen time is locked in you get party invitations to hand out to your guests. On the day, you’re given a running sheet so you know when everything’s happening, which helped me feel in control while still relaxed knowing everything was taken care of by the team.

Optional Extras
You have the opportunity to add extra to your party package.

We chose to add:

Face painting.
We did the face paint as and extra and it was an absolute hit! Each child gets called out one by one to have their face painted, and it’s all  very easy, with no hassle, and no mess. There was a big variety on face paint options and it all happens right outside the party room which is very convenient.

Balloon Bundles.
You can also add balloon bouquets which really give it a nice touch. You can add floor balloons, themed balloons or anything else you need to make your party special. We had My Little Pony balloons and Macie’s face was an absolute picture when she saw them!

What’s included in a standard party package?

2 hour package (one hour soft play, one hour in the party room)
Dedicated host
Party Games
Popcorn and fruit served for kids
Two food options from the party menu (Crumbed Chicken Bites & Potato String Fries //
Margarita Pizza Squares  // Cheese Quesadillas)
Lunch cooler party bag with special treats for each child
Party invitations for download or pick up

Overall impression
I was so impressed with our whole Jungle Buddies experience! It was completely stress free, I got to chat and catch up with my friends and family, enjoyed eating food while it was hot (a real Mumma luxury!). I had two very happy and very tired girls which was a sign they really had a ball! What’s more all the guests commented on what a great time they’d had, which made it extra special.

There was a great vibe, happy faces, nice natural light, and super friendly staff who were always on hand for anything we needed. Our party host kept energy levels high throughout the party and really made the atmosphere. If you’re looking for a stress-free party experience, Jungle Buddies is for you. All we had to worry about was bringing our cake!

Jungle Buddies have an amazing activity program throughout the year, from after school fun to school holiday activities. So whether you’re holding your own party or just having a fun family day out, check out Jungle Buddies for your little ones.
