My Summertime Essentials

December 28, 2017
The summer season is here which means late nights, hot days and not much time to pamper ourselves. Today I want to share some must-have summer essentials and things you can do at home to make you feel comfortable, confident and ready to party from head to toe.

Face- Antipodes, I love this brand everything it stands for. They have new MINI skin care range out. In my collection perfect for the summer heat I have been using:
Skin Brightening- The stylish 10 ml Mini perfectly sized to meet onboard luggage restrictions, or slip into handbags or make up bag. This helps with skin blemishes as it uses the world famous Manuka honey active 10+ with natural antibacterial properties. I Use daily to help bring out the light, fresh brightness your skin needs in the heat.
Skin Plumping- Also comes in a 10 ml Mini version. The skin Plumping serum is light and non oily, it helps enhance your skins natural hydration, something we need in summer hotness especially. It’s got nutrient rich avocado oil that assists in the plumping and appearance of fine lines. Shop HERE

Hair- Have a hair emergency pouch - Scunci hair accessories are the cutest! I’ve been loving their hair emergency pouch. It’s such a great idea to keep in your bag in case of a Hair emergency! Summer can be the greatest challenge to that straight silky mane or those luscious curls. To keep any style in tact, I don’t leave home without mine, carefully armed wuth bobby pins, scrunchie, and a hair tie. Shop HERE

Nails- Let’s talk Burgunday , this classic colour is back again this year; Sally Hansen has some gorgeous burgundy shades I’ve been
loving. Pair it with gold or glitter to elevate, or just kept simple for a perfectly fashionable look.  Shop HERE

Underwear- Wear the right undergarments/shapewear- Ok this one is a big one. There’s nothing worse than being sweaty, and uncomfortable during summer with unrelenting chafing. I’m sure I’m not alone here? I have been using Bridget’s. Unlike traditional undergarments and shape wear, Bridgets genius blend of 93% Nylon 7% Spandex allows for breathing. The 3M wicking technology, keeps the moisture out on those balmy, summer days. I’ve been loving this, the way it’s designed has been so well done, the anti-chaffing effect can be attributed to the quality of the fabric and the fit. My bum and tum have never been drier! Shop HERE

Feet- Exfoliate your feet at home- Milky Foot has a simply DIY foot exfoliation. Simply insert your feet into the Milky Foot “socks” for 45mins to 1 hour, and then rinse. The natural formula of milk ferment filtrate and mandelic acid safely exfoliates hardened dead skin, and within 3-5 days intense peeling will occur, revealing revitalized feet for those gorgeous open-toed shoes! Shop HERE

So, this Aussie Summer, follow these simple tips to maintain that flawless image for more than half an hour after you walk out the door.

Hope you enjoyed these, have you tired any?

How to Energise your body during the Notorious December

November 28, 2017

With the  school holidays nearly here, no doubt mums everywhere are asking how they’ll be keeping their kids entertained and themselves energized as the Christmas rush arrives. I know coffee and energy drinks may seem like a good solution, but their quick-fix and even faster crash aren’t good for your body’s natural routines. Understandably, it’s particularly hard at this time of year to find the motivation to keep up your health routines – after all, t’is the season to treat yourself

Naturopath Stephen Eddey reveals his to-do list to get your energy levels up and have you enjoying summer like no other – naturally!

1. Get up and go
It may be hot outside, but a brisk walk or jog in the park, or along the beach, will do wonders for your health – mentally and emotionally as well as physically. Try for late afternoons and early morning when the temperature and UV haven’t yet risen. Just 30 minutes of heart-pumping exercise can help burn calories, and boost your immune system. Make a date with a friend to ensure you'll commit to a regular outdoor workout that you can’t say no to!

2. Supplement your diet
As we’ve seen this year, cold and flu season doesn’t stop with the end of Winter. A lack of key antioxidants – which are vital for boosting the immune systemfighting off infections and inflammation, and boosting energy levels – can leave us vulnerable to illness at any time of year. It’snot always possible to obtain the necessary levels of antioxidants from our diet, so it can be a good idea to take a supplement. Ubiquinol, the active form of CoQ10, is a powerful antioxidant which is found naturally in the body, but can be depleted during illness. If your get-up-and-go has got-up-and-gone, then Ubiquinol supplements may help to support your natural energy levels to help you function at optimum levels.

3. Get social
They say that laughter is the best medicine and there is no better time than Summer to heed that advice, with the festive season offering ample social opportunities. Even when it’s boiling hot outside, try not to choose the couch and air conditioning over catching up with friends and family. Human interaction and socialising with your nearest and dearest also boosts your endorphin levels and will leave you feeling happier, energised and more positive.

4. Cut the caffeine
Numbers are rising of people relying on energy drinks filled with caffeine to boost their energy levels and help them get through the day. The downside of this, is that caffeine disrupts the body’s natural need for rest, relaxation and sleep, and the short high is quickly followed by a quick burn-down on the other side. Energy drinks have been shown to raise stress levels, increase heart rate and blood pressure, often making you feel even more tired and anxious than you were before. For sustained energy increase, try cutting out caffeine products and opt for a natural solution like a protein-packed meal.

5. Eat a better breakfast
Ever heard the phrase “You Are What You Eat”? Well, what you put into your body makes a huge difference to how you feel on a daily basis and breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day. Eating a protein and energy filled breakfast such as eggs with unrefined carbs likewholemeal toast, along with avoiding coffee at breakfast time, will ensure your body processes this in a way to give you natural energy from the nutrients it absorbs.

Speak to your healthcare practitioner to find out which supplement is right for you. Always read the label and use only as directed.

WELEDA New tinted lip balm

April 08, 2017
Weleda has been around for over 90 years, yes 90 years, and has been promoting natural beauty. They  use raw materials sourced and have recently introduced new tinted lip balms.

They are certified by nature and are suitable for vegans, these little lip balms contain plant- based Ingredients such as plant oils and waxed that keep lips smooth and lick moisture. To add the colour some mineral colour pigments add the shimmer of colour and subtle sheen.

Weleda lip balms come in 3 different colours:

Nude RRP $15.95
Rose RRP $15.95
Berry Red RRP $15.95

I was lucky enough to receive the rose and berry red to try out.

Once I applied the lip balm I instantly felt my lips softer and it last quite a while on. My lips get dry in the change of weather and I found this lip balm helped with the dry lips. I like that it's small and fits in my bag.

Harvest Garden Skincare

March 20, 2017
I really love coming across new Australian skin care brands with great ingredients and I've found a wonderful one to share with you all.

Harvest Garden is a family owned business based on the Central Coast of NSW. They have a range of beautiful handcrafted products and I got to try 3 from their range:

Honey and Oatmeal Bar
I wish you could smell how nice the scent is. This Bar is perfect for sensitive skin and for little skin. I used this on myself and the girls as a facial cleanser in the mornings and night. This made our skin feel so soft. This soap is made using 100% natural ingredients and nothing else. Natural clays and spices are used to add colour and essential oils are used to add scent. Dried herbs and spices create the texture and  exfoliation.

Herbal Balm
This herbal balm is used for cuts and scratches and contains no chemicals or nasties.Infused with Caledula flowers, This smells so nice.
I have used this on Macie's thigh when she scraped it at the park. It sealed the scrape and wasn't messy or oily. Hopefully  the girls don't get any scratches or cuts again any time soon, but have added it in my baby bag for going out especially for outdoor trips this is perfect to have at hand.

Activated Charcoal Masque
This mask is made with Kaolin clay, activated coconut charcoal, licorice root extract and gotu Lola extract. It has been designed to help skin get rid of toxins and draws out impurities, while tightening and purifying the pores. This also has antibacterial properties that is perfect for acne prone skin and oily skin. I used this mask and i loved it. It came in a powder form and needed to have a liquid mixed in of choice. You only need to use one teaspoon of powder and mix with a teaspoon your liquid choice. I used water and once I applied on my face, I left it on for 10 minutes, I then rinsed off with warm water using a face towel. This Masque came with its own brush to apply which I loved! So nice to receive the brush with Masque.
Afterward it left my skin feeling soft and smooth. My skin type is sensitive and I had no issues with this.

I'm really happy I got to try this lovely brand. I will definitely continue to use these products .

Dilly's collections Shower Cap

February 26, 2017
I have very long hair. As a busy mum I don't have time to wash my hair everyday. My hair usually ends up getting wet in the shower, even if its tied up which is annoying. When i saw Dillys Collections shower caps, they immediately stood out! I was intrigued when i saw that the inner layer is lined with MICROFIBER fabric and the middle layer has PVC water proofing. If that didn't already win me over, There is 15 different designs, from a ducky, cupcake, lady bug, damask, lepoard and more, something everyone will love.  Im a sucker for shower caps, and for anything thats stylish, so this cap won me over.

As i said before my hair is so long and usually gets pretty fizzy. I was really happy that after using Dillys Shower Cap, my hair had no fizz when i took off cap, and my hair stayed in the cap! The cap is a one size fits all, it fit well and for me and the band around felt good, didn't hurt or irritate me, and my head didn't feel hot wearing it, which especially in summer time is perfect. The exterior of the cap is satin and felt so fancy and amazing looking.

So i can safelty say im a Dillys collection fan and cant wait to get some more to add to my collection.
