Back to Pre School tips to help ease in

Heading back to school/preschool after school holidays can be an overwhelming time for everyone involved- the kids, the teachers and the parents!!

I’ve got both my children going back to preschool this year from Christmas Holidays, and this year Madison will be going more days as she starts school next year and Macie will be moving up to the preschool class.

I’m a little nervous to be honest, but also excited for them both to make friends, learn and start a new chapter.

I’ve put together a list of things we have been doing in the lead up,  and hope it’s helpful for your child and parents for going back to school.

Focus on the Kids’ Emotions- Kids pick up on our emotions, I’m guilty of being extremely emotional and you usually can see it in my face. Instead of focusing on our own emotions, Let’s zero in on how they are feeling.

Talk about going back to school- Build up the experience by talking about the exciting aspects of going back to school- Remind them of how they will be Seeing their friends, Ask questions about anticipated activities, room decor. Whatever you choose to talk about, the weeks leading up to that first day offers us opportunities to connect with our kids. It also gives us the chance to discuss any worries our children might have, as well as build enthusiasm.
